I enjoy being able to help the neighbors with their yard chores for a little extra green stuff in my pocket and that's NOT weeds either! But pulling the green stuff is worth the green in my pocket any day!
The one neighbor told me she had a bullfrog in her little pond one day and that it was huge! I hope to see one soon! The little Bunny Hop Hops like to hang out in the other neighbors adjoining property where they are not appreciated over there. These little what I like to call minature white tail deer because of their so called big white flashing tails as they run just like the deer..like to hang out in our yard and Journey has been having a blast chasing them out of the yard.. they then run to the neighbors and skeedaddle under the fence and hide in her beautiful profuse jungle of a garden. I imagine that these little Bunny Hop Hops are distant relatives of Little Peter Cottontail Rabbit? And then I can imagine Water Ship Down all over again...... a lot of stories could be created here in their own little shadowed worlds.
So today consisted of pulling several different kinds of weeds out of the next door neighbors flower garden and then over to the next neighbors yard to dig up some Liriope along her border where I then sawed them in half and then replanted the one half back into its bed and put the others in a wheelbarrow for planting in a new border. I have yet to see the flowers bloom ..that will be coming soon.
Then we moved a semi large Azalea bush to another spot and from there we added a new border to a flower bed by shoveling off the surface of the ground to extend the existing border of the lily garden.
I am thankful for the opportunity to work in the dirt. After living in Tok, Alaska for over 47 yrs and having only hard packed gravel just under the grounds surface to work with I am finding this dirt a pleasure to play in! If mom could only see me now!
